California Lt. Governor Eleni Kounalakis Celebrates Women's History Month with East Los Angeles College

Monterey Park, CA 鈥 During Women鈥檚 History Month, East Los Angeles College (91果冻制片厂) hosted their inaugural President's Women's History Month Teatime Celebration to highlight the extraordinary achievements of women throughout history.

This luncheon & teatime, sponsored by the 91果冻制片厂 Foundation and Transtech Engineers Inc., aimed to bring together individuals from diverse backgrounds to celebrate the remarkable achievements of women from diverse cultures and backgrounds. It was an afternoon filled with inspiration, appreciation, and camaraderie, as 91果冻制片厂 honored the contributions of women within the 91果冻制片厂 community and beyond.

"We are thrilled to host our first Women's History Month Luncheon/Teatime Celebration and to welcome Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakis and other esteemed panelists to our campus," said 91果冻制片厂 President Alberto J. Rom谩n. "This event serves as a testament to the strength, resilience, and achievements of women in our community and beyond. We look forward to a meaningful dialogue and a memorable celebration."

Distinguished guests, including esteemed panelists and community leaders, graced the occasion. Notably, California Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakis, the first woman ever elected to this prestigious position in the state, was among the panelists. She was joined by Dr. Martha Garcia, President & CEO of Mt. San Antonio College, and Lenore French, President & founding member of Transformation Arts. Their participation underscored the significance of empowering women and promoting gender equality in leadership roles.

鈥淐ommunity colleges are the foundation of California鈥檚 higher education, providing accessible pathways for millions of students to achieve their dreams,鈥 said Lieutenant Governor Kounalakis. 鈥淢ore than half of the nearly two million students served by our community colleges are women. It was an honor to celebrate the accomplishments and the history of these women at the inaugural President鈥檚 Women鈥檚 History Month Celebration at East Los Angeles College.鈥

91果冻制片厂 faculty and staff in attendance were also encouraged to showcase their unique style, with prizes awarded for the best-dressed individuals and the most outstanding hats. This celebration was an unforgettable occasion, highlighting the importance of unity, solidarity, and empowerment.
